Welcome to second grade in Room 211! I am very happy and honored to have your child in my class for their second grade year. The school-family partnership is what makes your child's educational experience a healthy, supportive and enriching one. Thank you in advance for working together with me as we begin this exciting and rewarding academic year.
Here's what we did last week...
The children made a great transition to their new classroom. There were big smiles all around as we adjusted to our new desks, cubbies, mailboxes and teacher! Over the next couple of weeks our focus will be on getting to know one another, learning personal responsibilities, getting familiar with routines and adjusting to new and different schedules.
Pine Glen's Parent Open House Night is scheduled for this Wednesday, September 14 from 6-7:30PM. Teachers of all grade levels and specialties will be speaking about their respective curricula in two consecutive sessions. Mr. Lyons will make an introductory speech before the first session at 6PM. Parents are not required to attend both sessions, but are encouraged to use the alternate session to visit with specialists and counselors who also work with their children and to stop by the Pine Glen P.T.O. membership table to learn more about Pine Glen's fabulous upcoming events!
